Welcome to the Shrewsbury Arms

A country pub, that excels in its warm welcome to all regulars and visitors alike. Its not just the good beers, fine wines or great food that attracts customers to return time after time. It takes all of these things together. If we please you tell your friends, if we fail on anything then tell us, we want you to be completely satisfied with your visit.

Jackie and Malcolm took over tenancy of the pub in June 2011.

"The Shrewsbury Arms is our first pub and a completely new venture after 30 yrs as teachers and 5 yrs working on P&O Cruise ships. Another of our projects over the last couple of years has been to visit all the counties of England and Wales and search out pubs in our own campervan. We have found some beautiful places and pubs on our own doorsteps and hope to get 'Great British Pubs with Campsites' into print soon. We are now looking forward to our new challenge and to re-establish our roots in Cheshire. We love our little pub and we hope our customers will too."

Attractions

Little Budworth is a small rural village just off the A54 from Winsford to Chester. The pub is located on the main road and is very accessible. It is 3 miles west of Winsford and 3 miles north of Tarporley.

As well as just being around the corner from Oulton Park, we have the beautiful Delamere Forest only 6 minutes away. With 6 golf courses within 10 minutes of the pub and the Whitegate way for those that just enjoy the walk without hitting a ball.

Nearby we have Blakemere Craft Centre and we are a short distance from Delamere train station, from where you can take a short train ride through the forest to Chester.

There are also numerous riding stables within a short distance for another way of enjoying our beautiful Cheshire countryside.

We also have a number of caravan sites within close proximity, such as Elm Cottage, The Hollies, the Acorns and, Shays Farm the clients of which regularly drop in for a drink and something to eat.

Frank (below) is our oldest regular. He has been enjoying a pint here since he was 18 yrs old (69 yrs!). He could get 10 pints for his pound note in those days. He is a great quality controller and has seen off at least 8 landlords. He can remember when the pub was part of an old dairy farm, the lawn was a bowling green and he can tell lots of stories about its long history (usually over a pint).
